Meet Miss Mila!

Our daughter Mila was born at 25 weeks due to PPROM. PPROM stands for Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes—a pregnancy complication where the amniotic sac (the “water”) breaks before 37 weeks of gestation. We recall the day clearly, her umbilical cord prolapsed during an ultrasound, leading to an emergency c-section. Sweet Mila was born at 4:44pm.
In numerology, 444 is often seen as a powerful and reassuring sign—a message that you're on the right path and supported by the universe. It typically symbolizes:
-
Stability and Foundation: The number 4 represents structure, discipline, and grounded energy. When tripled as 444, it amplifies these traits, suggesting you're building something solid—whether in relationships, career, or personal growth.
-
Hard Work and Determination: It’s a reminder to stay focused and persistent. Your efforts are being recognized, even if results aren’t immediate.
-
Spiritual Protection: Many interpret 444 as a sign that angels or spiritual guides are nearby, offering encouragement and guidance.
We chose to embrace this special sign amid the day’s chaos.
Babies who are born very early typically face a variety of challenges – including low birth weight and respiratory issues. Mila spent 97 days in the NICU before being discharged with no equipment. She had quite the adventure but continued to show up and fight every day.
We were the parents with no expectation of having a NICU journey. The parents who had not a single clue what to expect. The parents were lucky enough to have a wonderful team surrounding their daughter. A team who not only cared for Mila but cared for us as well. Wonderful Nurses and Respiratory Therapists who explained new concepts to us, sat with us when we received difficult news, and celebrated every milestone – big and small. We had an opportunity to strongly advocate and participate in Mila’s care because these people set us up for success.
Our Mission
The NICU journey is overwhelming and no two days are alike. Mila’s Mission was formed to equip families with resources and knowledge to ease the challenges of their journey.

We believe in the strength of NICU families and their ability to navigate the journey with courage, resilience, and hope.
